premise

At the Close is a Harry Potter roleplaying game, which will span the last few months - arguably the most exciting - of You-Know-Who's struggle to defeat Harry Potter and become the Master of Death. This is a perilous time for every witch and wizard, no matter whether they have already chosen a loyalty or resist getting any more involved than they absolutely must. As the Centaurs read in the fires and stars, the time between two wars ended many months ago, and now as the days draw nearer to the intangible close witches and wizards across Britain and beyond will find their character tested as they face the troubles of outright war.

We have places for many kinds of characters; Order Members and Death Eaters, men and women caught between the two, Muggleborns forced into hiding or captivity, the students of Hogwarts and those charged with broadening their young minds: all are welcome at ATC. Our focus will be mostly on the stories of those we didn't see very much of while reading J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, although as their lives start to intertwine more with others, all characters will become available for play. The moderators are seeking players eager to write collaboratively with one another, who want a highly active yet short-term game where they can richly bring a character or two fully to life during some of their most defining moments. Could this be you?
